The Koukoulee Facials Guide

A thoughtful approach to skin, timing, and care

Choosing a facial doesn’t need to feel complicated.
At Koukoulee, we take a considered, holistic approach — working with your skin, your nervous system, and where you’re at in life.

This guide is here to help you understand which facial might suit you best, when to book around events, and how to care for your skin before and after your treatment — so you get the most from your time with us.

Which facial is right for you?

Mindful Facial

Best for:
Sensitive, reactive, or inflamed skin · hormonal or perimenopausal skin · anyone feeling stressed, depleted, or overwhelmed

This is our most grounding facial. It focuses on gentle lymphatic drainage, facial massage, fascia release, and nervous system regulation. The skin is supported, never overstimulated.

You’ll leave feeling:
Calm, rested, hydrated, and softly glowing.

Sculpting Facial

Best for:
Dull or sluggish skin · puffiness or fluid retention · jaw, neck, and facial tension

A more active facial massage that works deeply into the facial muscles and fascia to lift, sculpt, and re-energise the skin. Ideal when your face feels heavy or tired.

You’ll leave feeling:
Lifted, brighter, lighter through the face, and more defined.

Restore Facial

Best for:
Dry, depleted, or mature skin · loss of elasticity · skin needing long-term support

This facial is all about nourishment and repair. It focuses on restoring hydration, supporting skin resilience, and encouraging regeneration. LED therapy is often recommended alongside this facial for optimal results.

You’ll leave feeling:
Plump, supported, and deeply hydrated.

Facial Massage (30 minutes)

Best for:
Regular maintenance · in-between treatments · tight jaw, temples, or forehead

A shorter, massage-focused treatment designed to keep lymph flowing, tension low, and skin looking fresh between longer facials.

You’ll leave feeling:
Relaxed, refreshed, and glowing.

When should you book a facial?

For weddings, parties, and special events

For your main facial, we recommend booking 5–7 days before your event.
This allows time for any mild flushing to settle while your glow continues to develop.

If you’d like an extra boost, a 30-minute facial massage 1–2 days before your event can enhance radiance without overwhelming the skin.

For travel or post-flight recovery

Facials are best booked within 1–3 days of arriving.
This supports hydration, lymphatic drainage, and helps calm skin after flying.

For ongoing skin health

Most clients benefit from facials every 4–6 weeks, or seasonally at the change of seasons, when skin often needs extra support.

What to do before your facial

To help your skin respond beautifully:

  • Avoid strong active skincare (retinol, acids) 3–5 days before your facial

  • Skip trying new products right before your appointment

  • Arrive well hydrated and unhurried

  • Come makeup-free if possible (not essential)

Most importantly, arrive as you are — your skin tells us what it needs on the day.

What to do after your facial

Facial results continue to unfold after your treatment. To protect them:

  • Plan a relaxing day after your facial - avoid stressful work to give your skin a chance to restore

  • Skip saunas, intense exercise, and heat on the day

  • Keep skincare simple and nourishing

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Allow your skin time to settle and glow

Consistency matters more than intensity. Regular, supportive facials create the best long-term results.

Still not sure which facial to book?

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
